With each passing day it is becoming increasingly clear that the marketing methods of yore can play major role in aiding the electronic media. Although reaching the masses has become easier through the internet, nothing can beat the word-of-mouth marketing that preceded any other means. The argument in favor of viral marketing is that it plays upon the psyche and the feelings. Pulling those strings is again being considered as the sure-shot way of peeping into the pockets.  

As such, the ways and means of using the webspace to reach the net citizens have to be altered to make them ‘feel’ about the products. Make them talk about the features, a video, a music video, a graphic, an allurement or for that matter even a freebie. That’ll ensure droves clicking into your website. That itself can be smartly converted to revenue generation. With PPC, banner ads and the whole paraphernalia that one has at his disposal, starting a viral can be attempted very easily. 

The downside, if one may, can be- choosing this strategy recklessly. It has to be dwelt upon. The thought behind the strategy has to be identified appropriately. Relevant, curiosity generating marketing has to be employed. It may take a lot of brain storming to decide the course of action for reaching the proper target audience. A proper ad professional may be imperative in this kind of promotion. 

Having said that, viral marketing is easily implemented much against the conventional print media, radio and television ads.
