Your orders and substitution by the florist

When you place an order for flowers with the florist at the Flower Shop you should be careful about the item you are getting finally. Many reputable florists have the system of substituting your orders with something in close proximity. Though they remain meticulous about providing you items as close as possible to what you have ordered for yet in the ultimate analysis they may not be what you really wish to have.

For example you might have ordered for delivery of sunflowers as Flowers by Washington D.C Florist. However due to some reason, mostly for being out of stock, the florist decides to substitute the same with daisies. The flowers may be nice looking but it may not serve the same purpose for which you had ordered sunflowers.

Therefore while placing orders you must be careful about the terms and conditions and do not accept such terms where the florist retains the right to substitute your order with something else that to his mind is in close proximity to your orders. There may not be much problem so far as the value is concerned since mostly the florists take care to provide items of identical or even a slight higher value as substitute to your original orders.

You have legal rights to seek compensation or refuse delivery if you feel that unauthorized substitution has been made. No one can make a substitution without your consent to your orders say for Flowers by New York Florists or such others. You should also note that this type of substitution mostly occurs in case of multi colored flowers like rose.
