Offspring 101

I found some rather offensive t shirts in my son’s closet. I know that I had not bought them for him, so I wondered where they had come from. If he had a job, and earned his own money to buy his own clothes then it would be different, but he does not. When he got home from school that day, I asked him where he had gotten the offensive t shirts and he said that a friend had loaned them to him.

I asked him if he thought that the t shirts were funny and he said that he did. I then asked him why they were hidden in the back of his closet. He told me that he knew I would not think that they were funny t shirts, so he put them in the back. I told him to call the friend and let him know that he would be returning all of the offensive t shirts to him later that evening.

I made sure to go along with my son, and to see to it that he gave back the t shirts that he thought were so funny. I do not think he will be bringing any more of those kinds of funny t shirts into my house again. The embarrassment of showing up at your friend’s house with your mom seemed to work rather well.
