When I asked my boss why the only brand of servers he ever bought was dell, he told me that he knew that they were reliable. I do not know how he knows they are reliable since he never sees the computer guys coming to fix them or paying any repair bills either. The computer department is in charge of keeping the dell servers up and running no matter what.

If they cannot fix the server then they are told that they should just buy a used dell server to replace anything that is not up to par. I have seen ten different dell servers being replaced over the last five years. Now, I am not sure if it is because they are used a lot or if the repair man does not know what he is doing. I would bet that maybe the used dells servers that they put in, are possibly already on their last leg and they got them so cheap that it does not matter how long they last since they can always install another one.

I may have to start reading up on the used dell servers online, and see what kind of rating they really get, I wonder if my boss just has stock in dell or something and that is why he only buys that brand.
